IRONKIDS Exmoor
IRONKIDS Exmoor is a 'run only' event for up to 1,000 children aged 3-14 years, to be held in the grounds of Wimbleball Lake. It's all about fun and healthy living and each child will receive a medal once they cross the finish line under the iconic IRONMAN finish gantry.

Training For Fun Running | Fun Runs Near Me
As the name suggests a fun run is a non competitive and in many cases are designed for children to take part in, though there are also plenty for adults to enjoy too. Because no one is keeping score, these races have a much more relaxed attitude and as such many will have a theme or element to them that makes them very unique compared to usual races.
You may see many fun races where people dress up in costume and run the entire race that way – it’s all part of what makes these runs fun! More recently Colour Runs such as the Wiggle Color Vibe have become very popular amongst first time runners as they offer short distances whilst keeping things relaxed and fun.
Training For Fun Running
Training for a fun running can vary a lot depending on what elements the race has to it – as such you should find out all the info you can well in advance and then tailor your training to what you need to do on the day. As mentioned though many of these races are designed with kids in mine so you may just wish to go down to one and have a great family day out at an event such as the Big Fun Run

Kids Fun Run
These types of event are fantastic for children and alot of providers offer reduced entry prices for them too. Look out for ones that allow fancy dress, they will always appeal more to children if they can run as their favorite super hero or cartoon character!
Fun Runs for Charity
There are plenty of runs where you can also raise money for a charity, you can use our charity filter in the left search to find charities that support events. They will normally set you a fundraising amound and even give you sponsorship forms to help track any money raised.
Kids Course
IRONKIDS Exmoor is focused on participation and fun, and aims to inspire children to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. Each child will receive an IRONKIDS T-shirt to race in, and an IRONKIDS medal once they cross the finish line under the iconic IRONMAN finish arch.
WHO CAN ENTER?
IRONKIDS is open to all children between the ages of 3 & 14 years old on race day. When registering online you will be asked to choose your child's school year. They will then be allocated to the appropriate distance below. Please ensure you enter this information correctly as this cannot be changed when start times have been allocated due to safety.
COURSE & DISTANCES
500m* - Preschool, Nursery, Reception, Year 1
*(must run with a parent or guardian)
1km - Year 2, 3, 4, 5
1.5km - Year 6, 7, 8
2km - Year 9, 10
START TIMES
All children will start in waves according to their school year
The oldest children will start first, through to the youngest children
Actual start times are to be confirmed
Children must start in their school year category, they cannot run with older/younger children.
There may be several wave starts for each year. We will attempt to allocate children in the same entry, to the same start, if they are in the same school year. We cannot guarantee that children entered separately will start at the same time
ENTRY
Entry will open on 14th December at 2pm GMT
IRONKIDS Exmoor will cost £12
Entry is non-refundable and non-transferable
Places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis
You will be asked to choose your child’s t-shirt size when entering. This is the size you will be given when you register. This cannot be swapped for a different size. When choosing your size, please take into account that the event is June next year and your child may have grown significantly in this time.
