Come and join us next summer, cycling along the tree-lined canals and atop the the dykes, exploring the pretty villages of the Dutch countryside as we make our way to the bright lights of Amsterdam - and beyond! This hostel-based cycling holiday will introduce you to the beautiful and lesser-known landscapes of the Netherlands as we visit the beaches, the castles, the historic cities and the nature reserves of what is properly called 'the cyclist's paradise'.

Event Description:
Travelling Monday 24th July, the overnight ferry crossing onboard Stena Line's 'Superferry', Hollandia, with its comfortable cabins, two restaurants, two bars and a cinema, provides a great onboard experience meaning you're fresh from the start of this great cycling holiday. Following signed routes through picturesque and varied countryside, you'll be welcomed with typically warm Dutch hospitality at the beautiful, clean and friendly hostels.
PLEASE NOTE, ACCOMMODATION IS IN SHARED SINGLE GENDER EN-SUITE HOSTEL ROOMS, TYPICALLY WITH 4 OR 6 BEDS,
An average level of fitness is required for this holiday. You must be able to cycle up to 50 miles in one day. Minimum age 13.

Route Details
Day 1: Overnight sailing from Harwich to Hoek van Holland. (Monday July 24th)
Day 2: Early start with a visit to Delft, then we'll head for the coast and a landscape of dunes and woodlands, with the chance to stop for swims and lunch on the way to Noordwijk-aan-Zee (approx 55km).
Day 3: Noordwijk to Amsterdam, visiting the historic city of Haarlem (approx 45km)
Day 4: Day off to explore Amsterdam with an optional circular ride to pretty Broek-in-Waterland.
Day 5: Following the coast of the IJselmeer, we'll visit the 'star-fort' of Naarden on our way to the brand new Utrecht City hostel (approx 80km)
Day 6: Riding through a landscape of inland dunes and open heathland, we'll overnight on the outskirts of Arnhem. (approx 80km)
Day 7: From Arnhem we follow the rivers Nederrijn and Waal to pretty Gorinchem, then catch the ferry to Dordrecht and stay in the peaceful heart of the Biesbosch National Park (approx 75km). Nearby woodland lake for swimming!
Day 8: Return to the Hoek for the overnight ferry (approx 50km).
